&cool - a responsible butler such as himself would not be expected to lose his cool so easily. effectively calculating and cool-headed, he can easily adapt to almost any situation, should the need call for it.
&loyal - there would be no need to question this man's loyalty to his lady. he sees no other women (except perhaps as "distractions") and will only do as his lady wishes.
&observant - every single detail is something important to the butler of a level such as himself. from the stray piece of thread to a hair out of place, this is something he can spot and will easily fix.
&tidy - a trait that applies not only to himself but to his surroundings as well. he is the type of person who likes to maintain his regal appearance as well as keeping both his lady and her room spotless.
&punctual - being a butler keeps one rather busy, and as such, there is no time to laze around and lag behind. you can be sure then, that he is always on schedule, if not earlier.
&fashionable - it's odd to see a "fashionable" male, but this is what he is. although he is mostly clad in black with the same outfit, one could say that his outfit is indeed of the latest model.
&brave - to an extent, he is one who would take blows for his lady, physically and mentally. he is also an adept "fighter" (if one calls hand-to-hand defense fighting), so he is quite capable of his job as a "bodyguard" as well.
&old-fashioned - having lived in italy all his life then being shipped to england, he's retained some old-fashioned habits and customs, such as bowing before his lady, pulling out her chair for her, opening the door, etc.

negative traits!
&stubborn - unusually stubborn for a mature man, he usually tends to see himself as correct, usually imposing his will upon the lady. if he sees something that he deems harmful, he will immediately get out of his way to avoid it, no matter what.
&argumentative - going along with being a stubborn man, he is also an argumentative fellow. that's not to say that he particularly enjoys it, but that's just his personality. however, arguments with him usually last for a second or two, due to the fact that he does not like speaking too much for long periods of time.
&insociable - a decidedly silent type that does not particularly take to social gatherings unless specifically with his lady, he would rather stay quiet with that "above-it-all" aura. he talks, sure, but usually only when he's being addressed or if it's to make some crudely sarcastic remark. this being said, he's not one to share personal and intimate details of his life.
&sadistic - he is sadistic, to an extent, of course. he does not outright torture people on the spot, but he does enjoy toying with people's lives in general, and likes to play with his lady's emotions as well. not enough to get her hurt physically or mentally, but enough to usually rile her up. it's his way of having some fun.
&tactless - due to his insociable life, he usually ends up saying things he really shouldn't, and usually, he does not apologize after. if he ever did, it would only be to his lady. it is only under his lady that he "behaves".
&cold - an air of indifference constantly surrounds this man, but only if his lady is not in the immediate area. as was mentioned before, he is the type of person who respects (usually) no one else aside from his lady, showing his "other side".
&manipulative - a wily smile is something that crosses his features when this man is out and about trying to get others to do what he wants (not using pure force, of course). he tends to enjoy playing around with people's decisions, just for the sake of it.
&seductive - although he's not one to brag about looks, it's not something he just lets go to waste. coupled with his manipulative nature and his dazzling devilish smile, he mostly gets anyone (mostly ladies) to do what he wants them to do. not for romance, of course, just for the fun of it.
