Nagi never knew she could break an arm while trying to ride a horse. But then again riding a horse were kind of dangerous to begin with. Especially when you are just starting out. Looking at her bruised arm, Nagi let out a sigh and flopped her whole body down on a bed. Where was the nurse? She is the only one whose permitted to touch anything in the infirmary. Nagi could have done everything herself if it isn't for the huge rule sheet taped on the window. All the girl did is cradle her arm and wince when a wave of pain coursed through the arm. Luckily it isn't broken, or it would hurt ten times. Now Nagi should have asked Cedric to come along. But she hated someone trailing behind her now, for what reason even she could not understand. The eye patch wearing girl looked up to the ceiling and caught the sight of the light bulbs. It's flickering on and off and something like dread seem to befell on Nagi. She had watched way too many suspense films she decided. Because almost all flickering lights lead to trouble one way or the other. Blinking, Nagi stood up and decided she might as well stand up. She couldn't go back, as Cedric would definitely worry about her, seeing the heavily scraped arm. And now that Nagi thinks about it, the rules in the infirmary sucked. Almost as much as not being able to fall in love with your butler. Wait, why is she thinking about that rule again?
Frowning, the Lady might as well break one rule just for once. Looking at the various containers, she give the objects a good sweep of her eyes before averting it to the sink beside it. She may need to wash off the accumulating blood; although thank goodness it's not pouring. Soon she had her arm gently being rinsed by the warm tap water. A little stinging, but Nagi could hold on. Suddenly a noise made her jump and turning around Nagi realized it was just the creak of the wall. Shouldn't this Academy be up to date with its buildings? Because it seem like Stella Fiore were beginning to fell apart. Or maybe just the infirmary itself. Either way Nagi does not want to stay in this place any longer. Her courage wasn't even there, but something still made her keep staying here. Hurriedly, Nagi grabbed a piece of paper towels and wiped the remaining blood and water from her arm. She doesn't really have time to bandage it, and it would be a waste too. Then Nagi heard another crash, this time its the crash of a two containers. She must have accidentally knocked it over in her unreasonable hurry. Panicked, Nagi saw the spilled swabs and cotton balls added with the stray pieces of glass. Oh crud.

When I feel like talking I never be wrong If I feel like walking you best come along With blood dripping down his chin, Lesflores strode with a dignified sense of accomplishment. Not only had this been the first fight he had the opportunity to be in since such a long time ago, he’d taken the moral side and gotten away with it. While out shopping, he’d come across a mugger ripping a thin purse from the shoulder of some passing window shopper. The string like cord broke with an easy tug of the fleeing assailant. In any normal instance, Lesflores would have blamed the bystander effect and let the man pass. But with the annoying clerk from the supermarket, constantly raining her sunny disposition with each scanning swipe of her arm, the butler felt like breaking something fragile. And so when the thief ran past, the butler’s fist caught him squarely in the nose.
The staggered mugger responded with a right hook that caught the violent sociopath across the jaw. The flurry of blows barely lasted more than half a minute but the viciousness of the onslaught drew the eyes of a small crowd forming. When the last punch had been thrown, the mugger fell to the ground in a daze. Disappointed, Lesflores picked up the forfeited purse and returned it to it’s rightful owner, walking away with a nonchalant indifference and his hands stuffed in his pockets. The youth hadn’t bothered to wipe the blood slowly leaking from his lip and swallowed the bit that pooled in his mouth. A badge to wear, if anyone would ask he’d simply tell the truth.
When he did make it back on campus, classes were in full swing and he was alone on his prideful walk to the infirmary. He’d have to apply light medicine to the cut on his lip and have his teeth checked, just in case one was loose. He might receive a scolding or he might even be praised for doing the heroic thing. The entire idea amused him and as he approached the door to the nurse’s station, he heard a loud crash. Wincing at the unpleasantness of the noise, he opened the door slowly with a quiet rap of his knuckles to signify he was there.
”Hello?” he called into the room and stepping in with a confident swagger. There stood an eye-patched girl standing over a mess of cotton swabs and cotton balls on the floor. What she was doing in the infirmary, he couldn’t guess. A small trickle of blood ran from a cut on her arm but it didn’t seem bad enough to him to require a nurse’s touch. Internally, he sighed in pity for the young girl. Was she so feeble that as soon as she got a boo-boo she was running for someone to kiss and make it better?
”Oh my, hello.” he feigned politeness and shock, ”I was just looking for the nurse, is she in?” It was an obvious question, one he didn’t even have to pose. The dripping stuff of life from his chin had stained his normal clothes with a heavy red line, as if someone had taken a sharpie and ran down his green shirt with a simple white design on the front. ”Oh! You’re hurt as well.” The idea had hit him fairly quickly and he acted with the same swiftness, ”No time to waste then, please sit.” He motioned to a chair and turned to rummage through the nurse’s supplies, searching for disinfectant and anything else he needed to treat the wound.

Failure! Nagi wanted to face palm herself now. Did she really attract attention? Not that she wanted someone in the same position as her enter, but he just have to be dripping blood down his chin. Like as if he had been in a fight or something; no wait that description seems to light. Nagi thought the newcomer, a butler perhaps, looks more like a wild animal than a real person. Well, it's just what she's thinking. To her, every stranger doesn't seem human until she actually gets to know them. Now what should she do? Clean up the mess in front of him?! He may tell the nurse on her, but she's too shy to actually make them understand it was an accident. Plus, what would he think of her? Oh the horror! He may think she's some kind of thief! Or perhaps a silly little wannabe Lady! Dear, dear, such a sweet panicked little girl Nagi is. Now that she thinks about it, the cut may seem better off being treated else where. However the male had begin speaking and she got nowhere to run. Heavens! Seeing their current condition, Nagi could find some similarities between their inevitable meeting. Both had done something bad, although her's were definitely not on purpose And him, oh she can assume he had been in a fight alright!
”Oh my, hello.” ”I was just looking for the nurse, is she in?” There was a certain politeness and shock in his voice; huh, obviously from his position as a butler one could guess. Butlers doesn't get into fights unless it's for their Ladies. Without saying anything though, Nagi managed to shook her head and mouthed a "no". She really hate talking in such a weird situation. He doesn't really looked he's in need of any emergency checkup, to Nagi he looked fine. Maybe a mouthful of blood, a rinse, and done! Where is his Lady?! ”Oh! You’re hurt as well.” ”No time to waste then, please sit.” This made Nagi blush, she really didn't need treatment now. Since what would they think if they were to walk by and see two people who weren't even a Lady and her Butler? Rumors, such sweet lies. Surely Nagi doesn't want that?! But she still obeyed despite her immediate hesitation; she couldn't trust her instincts anymore. Then she watched him rummage in the supplies, completely ignoring the rules. She wander if she should remind of that. Whatever now, this Lady should be glad. "Do you, happen to have a Lady yet?" she asked suddenly. It's always smart enough to start a talk with someone.

When I feel like talking I never be wrong If I feel like walking you best come along A curt smile ran across the butler’s lips as he found disinfectant and bandages. The pleasant mood he’d found himself in after the scrap hadn’t diminish at all. Turning to the wounded Lady, he waited for her to offer him her arm. Dismayed when the barely bleeding arm stayed glued to the arm of the chair she had so obediently sat in, he walked to her side and kneeled to inspect the scrape. ”Well, this isn’t too bad. This might sting a little bit.” Ignoring her question and continuing with his doctor routine, Lesflores gently wiped the abrasion with the putrid disinfectant. ”I’m sorry for the annoyance but if you don’t disinfect cuts like these, you never know what may happen.” Carefully placing and smoothing out the bandage with deft fingers, the butler finished treating the meager wound with easy.
”There you are, that should be much better.” Standing and brushing off his knees, Lesflores looked around the office again. He had hoped that the Nurse might keep something around for little children, a sweet or a toy or something. Opening a drawer, he found a stash of lolipops just hidden away. Snatching one of them up, he turned and offered it to the Lady with the eye patch. ”Aren’t nurse’s and doctor’s supposed to offer a treat to patients who are great sports?” A charming smile washed over his face as he held out the candy, silently laughing about the advice mothers gave children everywhere. Lesflores was the very reason they told their children never to accept candy from strangers. If only teenagers still heeded the wives tale.
”Now, what did you ask? Oh, my Lady? Yes I do. Miss Annabelle Vallance. Do you happen to know her?” Odd small talk, the butler wondered why this was the first thing she asked. Often he was asked for his name first, or what he was doing away from his lady, or a plethora of other inquisitions. He raised an eyebrow at the young girl, wondering just what she had been getting at. His fiery eyes burning with some semblance of curiosity, he waited for an answer.

Maybe it's the fact she's so used to being treated like this, but every time Nagi felt someone taking care of her like this makes her feel she wants more. The blush is still settled on her face, and one one eyed girl didn't try anything to keep it away. A smugness washed over her face; like a satisfaction of some sort. However she quickly composed herself and begin leaning into the chair. Her eye suddenly showed a great interest in the white haired man. But what really disappointed her were the fact he already had a Lady. "Er, no I don't unfortunately. Although I would be pleased to meet her." It's not a full lie, since Nagi did want to meet this Annabelle just for the heck of it. Even though she felt a little jealous, Nagi wouldn't blame her. Though now at fifteen years old Nagi felt almost every boy she had came into contact with have some admirable quality about them. It's not enough for a crush; oh no. But it's more like a 'sibling" like figure that Nagi think only she should feel. She never had any siblings, or even cousins for that matter. And truth to be told Nagi doesn't like being the eldest out of a bunch of kids. All the responsibilities would be put on her. Looking at the newly bandaged arm, Nagi mouthed a thanks and were surprised she hadn't truly stuttered it out. maybe it's the fact they were in an infirmary; an almost private room. Hopefully no one comes in and notices the mess. Speaking of the mess, she should be cleaning this up. But the butler's here and maybe he should help out? No...he didn't knock it down, she did. The butler had even offered a lollipop, something she had long since ever ate. Though craving for one Nagi shook her head and smiled, saying,"No thank you."
Then standing up and straightening her dress, Nagi walked over and bent down. She felt lazy all of a sudden, and somehow she didn't feel like picking all of them up, especially not with a male looking at her. "These need to go to the trash; floor's unsanitary." she murmured, more to herself then to the butler. Skinny hands make work on picking up each and every one of the fallen objects, while carefully maneuvering them so they wouldn't scrape against sharp glass. Somehow she felt this reminds her of the time her mother made her pick up all the dropped grapes during a summer party. The woman were such a conniving thing, picking on her father and herself. But at the same time Nagi felt grateful, as she did pay for her home tuition fees. Do you...happen to like your Lady? I heard it's easy to fall in love with one once you live with her for a while." Nagi suddenly asked, chuckling a little. She had stopped her work and looked up at the butler, eye twinkling with delight. The sudden change of mood surprised Nagi yet again. Is she teasing him now?

When I feel like talking I never be wrong If I feel like walking you best come along ”Ah, I’m sure you’d love her.” The butler rambled as he walked toward a mirror hanging over an impeccably clean sink, ”Though…. She can’t exactly… speak.” He spoke between spurts of water, a reddish brown swirl mixing in the drain. He tried to match the Lady’s speech. Her mannerisms. After practicing for so long, he’d gotten into the habit of forgetting to turn his slightly miming ways off. Checking his teeth in the mirror, it seemed as if everything was in place. He was lucky at that, the mugger’s right hook had caught him in the chin pretty badly. The trickster grin glaring back at Lesflores was one of pure amusement, here were two wounded people making trifling talk instead of asking the obvious. ’What happened?’ The butler was surprisingly glad he didn’t have to explain just yet.
He had popped the rejected lollipop into his mouth after checking his own teeth, the cherry flavoring washing away the metallic taste of blood. His apple-red eyes dancing with delight. He was too far into his games with Annabelle to worry about anyone else but his mind couldn’t help but wander. As the Lady kneeled to pick up the cotton balls and swaps on the floor, the butler did so too. What was it with the Lady’s he’d met recently? Here he was, a butler by trade, and they wouldn’t ask him to do his job. It was almost laughable how the air of superiority he was used to was fading from the student body.
”Let me help you,” and so he did. His deft hands scooped and picked up the fallen medical supplies with ease. Plucking the white puffs off the floor Lesflores enjoyed the silence for a short while, until she broke it with an uneasy question. He paused for a second, the gears of his mind locked at the monkey-wrench of a question she had thrown at him. ”Ah….” a small breath escaped his lips with a hushed sound, ”Like her? Ah, we’ve… we’ve barely known each other that long. I’m not really sure what to say. I mean…” He stopped and started, trying to find the right words to answer the question. ”I mean… She’s very beautiful. And kind.” He gave the answers he expected one would want to hear. But he was still wondering, the challenge that Annabelle offered was unique. That was the only way he saw her at the moment. A conquest that was of Everest scale. What would one call that? The amount of time and effort needed to go into a project like that, normally he’d avoid it. But there was an allure in Annabelle he couldn’t ignore and he wanted to put that allure under his thumb, figure out what made it tick.

Somehow listening to the man's description of Annabelle, the more Nagi realized just how many kinds of ladies can be in this very building. At first Nagi had thought she's the only weird one, since she does have only one eye. Standing up and cradling her arm, Nagi strode towards the very same chair and sat down. She should be helping right now, but something in their conversation prevented from doing so. She's never good at multi-tasking. Thinking back to the first time she had met this butler, Nagi could still remember the image of him bloodied. He must be punched by someone, while protecting that lady Annabelle. Poor girl must be scared out of her wits. Luckily her butler were there. But Nagi can never assume its like that. Still, the appearance of that person seem a little on the wild side. So she could fully wander what sort of other affiliation he could be into. Right now though, the butler seem like an okay man. Thinking to his answer, he seem kind of nervous. Does he not like being asked questions? Well whatever, Nagi's curiosity of how he got the bleeding sparked the worst half of her. Just as long as the latter does not take an offense everything would be fine. Still she felt just a tad uncomfortable now. Paranoia, Nagi guessed.
"Forgive me for asking more questions, but what happened to your chin?" She tiled her head to the side, like a child's. Strands of black hair slid off her thin shoulder. Nagi decided from this day one she wouldn't ever venture into other people's business. Yet the delicious knowledge of being able to understand others seem to belittle her efforts of suppressing it. She blame her mother. If not for that wretched woman's own personalities Nagi wouldn't have been influenced it. By now Nagi also wandered what time it was; her eye begin darting to the clock and then back to the butler.
