And can you see the means without the end? In the Random Frantic Action that we take.
Theo leisurely strolled down the hall, checking the numbers on the doors as he passed. He'd been asked to pick up a forgotten book that had been left sitting inside his Lady's desk on accident. An afternoon walk in the brisk air didn't really upset him that much. In fact, he welcomed it. There was nothing he could break like this, nothing he could cut himself on. The fresh band-aids on his fingers still throbbed from time to time, the ultimate results of practicing his cooking skills were light nicks from a sharp blade.
"Ah ha! He were go." he mused to himself, stopping at the room number his Lady had given him, "Third row in, second back..." He had to remind himself on the walk back, repeating the numbers in his head so he wouldn't forget. It would be bad if he got the wrong desk and someone thought he was going through the desks. He couldn't afford a complaint. Theo popped into the room and took the book from the desk, 'Ah, Miss Alicia does have good taste.' he thought looking at the cover of one of his favorite books. Now all that was left was to return to her quickly and continue with his daily chores. The routine was simple enough, just light cleaning and cooking. He'd actually grown to look forward to it all.
Stepping back into the hallway, he stretched and looked around. In the afternoon, the first floor hallways were virtually empty. Occasionally another butler would come by, going about doing the business of their Ladies but the school remained silent. The chirping of birds in the distance lulled Theo into a relaxed pace as he made his way back to the dormitories. Day dreaming while walking, he looked forward to curling up and reading one of the books he'd gotten from the school library that day.

You make me nervous but I might go crazy, complicated girl - you're my miracle. "I miss you." A soft feminine voice broke the silence of a wonderful morning, the warm wind passing through her strawberry tinted locks as the sun brightly illuminated the young woman's pale flesh. Another bright and wonderful day yet spent without you; such were the solemn thoughts of Lady Lilith Mary Rosenthall. Marius originally was chosen to become her butler for this school yet because of his constant over achieving nature, he wasn't qualified to enroll and was left behind in the Rosenthall Manor in Romania. Although they do keep in touch through phone calls and frequent texts, it wasn't the same as being basked in his constant presence. Despite her attending school for only a week, she already received news of her new butler -- someone who would come to her whenever they felt ready. Who was he? Was he nice? Would he ever fill the shoes of Marius Nae Vilhelm? Many questions flittered through her occupied mind as she wandered back to the dormitories, clinging to several old fashioned novels to her chest to read.
Suddenly a figure brushed passed her passing silhouette, a firm bumping motion to signify their ignorance of noticing her presence or simple clumsiness of not noticing her any sooner. Lilith's footing became erratic as she tried to regain balance, quickly whipping behind her to gather a full look of the strangers passing figure. "Excuse you!" Tickle pink brows rose and furrowed in an annoyed gesture, a gloved palm brushing against the shoulder of her dress. A gown fit for a princess; tailored in the finest silk with shades of dark and soft pink, attached with thin lines of white lace and accompanied with shoes to match. She wasn't fond of wearing it daily but while attending classes to improve her Lady like attitude, it became an assignment to always wear your best - even if you didn't have anything extravagant planned. Much to her annoyance. Lilith kept her stance while glaring towards the backside of the rude stranger, demanding some sort of apology or any signs of notice. Butlers came here to be polite, no matter which lady, and show them immense gestures of respect. Yet why did this one felt so obligated to bump into her? words; 374. tag; theo. note; mine is small too, apologies. </3 song; kalafina - lacrimosa.

And can you see the means without the end? In the Random Frantic Action that we take.
With his eyes unfocused, his mind happily wandering through Conan Doyle’s genius, Theo was content. There was little else for him to do on his way back. His polished black shoes clacked across the floor, echoing down the hall like a pulse. He slowly drifted into the corner of his mind, thinking of his family back in France. His father had been a tailor, an art that was slowly dying and leaving the poor composers of needle and thread penniless. He’d spent his days with his nose in a book, laying around the house and consuming classics from the library. Other times, his father would be teaching him how to stitch and mend properly, at least until the thimble he was using was misplaced. A small smile crept its way across the boys lips, he missed his home dreadfully.
Well, not all of it. The wealthier children in his neighborhood could be cruel, although that felt like an understatement. His eyes closed slowly, pushing the thoughts of those spiteful bullies from his head. Theo felt something brush against him but didn’t check to see what it was. His mind was too preoccupied but an angry voice called him back. He turned on his heels, quickly lowering his head apologetically. How could he have been so absorbed in his daydreaming that he’d bumped into someone and not even apologize?
”Ah, I’m so sorry!” he spoke in a small voice, staring at the ground. He’d forgotten his place and gotten careless and clumsy, ”Please forgive me, madam.” He couldn’t give any excuse, saying that he was so lost in reminiscing that he wasn’t paying attention to where he was walking and who was around just wasn’t acceptable. ”I’m sorry that I was so careless,” he continued in an embarrassed fluster, ”I just wasn’t paying attention, ah… Please forgive me.”
Theo didn’t dare look up. He couldn’t face his accuser in the face. Something about the voice seemed vaguely familiar though, he was almost certain he’d heard it long ago. He glanced up quickly, peeking at the face of the Lady. In the back of his head, something clicked. ”Excuse me but… Have we met before?” He posed the question in a small voice; surely this couldn’t be the same girl. Coincidences like that just didn’t happen, ”Perhaps you stayed near Paris before?” Even if they didn’t, he couldn’t stop his shy curiosity from bubbling forth.
