Geor shook his head with a smile, and chuckled. The situation was quite interesting for him, and he enjoyed himself a lot. If she was always like this, he would be happy to serve. It was hard to find a funny lady after all. Or at least, that's what his father told him. After his 5 years in the legion were over, he started working as a bodyguard. He would often whine how his clients were snobbish idiots, but it was more likely that he was annoying. He had a tendency to make bad jokes. At times they were so bad, you would rather commit suicide than hear them again.
"Well, wolves are loyal to their pack at the very least, but still, they are quite dangerous, don't you agree, m'lady."
He mentally chuckled at this exchange. Most of the people didn't know, but it wasn't only his last name that made him a wolf. His middle name, Tenrou meant Sky Wolf in Japanese. It was his mother's idea, a joke of some sort, but it was kinda strange for Geor. With that his full name would have been Geor Sky Wolf Wolf, and that sounded stupid in his opinion. He would often wonder if it was his name that made him act all protective of his friends. He became a proficient martial artist in order to get rid of bullies at school, but later on it became more of a duty for him. His father often told him about his years in the legion, how he had only the members of his squad to help him in a time of need. Service was a lot easier for he had friends.
"I'm worried about myself tough. With my luck I'll get a stoic, and evil lady. That, or she will be going on about rules all day, until I drop to the floor, brain-dead."
Saying this, Geor sighed, with a forlorn expression on his face. He hoped his act was good, it made conversations more fun. He almost reached his limit, he wouldn't be able to keep up his act a too much longer. He took a deep breath to calm himself, his hand gripping his cane tighter. As the air became colder, his knee started to hurt again. The pain was annoying at first, but now it felt like he had glass shards under his skin. Looking back at the girl, he could see she was enjoying herself, and he didn't want to break her mood. He was going to be her servant from now on after all. Instead he tried placing all his weight on his right leg, to lessen the strain on his injured limb. The cane was incredibly useful at times like this. It could help him move around, and it was an efficient weapon, for who would expect a man, who needs a cane to move around, defend himself with said cane quite proficiently. The effectiveness of such a weapon came from the power of surprise. It could be used to target knees, and feet, to knock enemies off balance, before ending it with a strong hit to their shoulder, disabling an arm, or the head, knocking them out. And it was cool, at least in Geor's opinion. In formal clothing he would look like a noble.

Grinning Evangeline let herself give a small laugh. Her blue eyes glanced up at the taller man as she listened to him speak. His voice was deep but it had a sincere hint of cheerfulness to it. She liked the way he spoke and it helped her to feel a little more comfortable about him. Earlier that morning she would have given anything to have more time without a butler but now she was starting to wish that she had run into him sooner. He didn’t make her feel the least bit like she was some bossy, stuck-up teenager that wanted to order him around all day. Instead he made her feel like she was actually a nice person with a sense of humour, something that not a lot of Stella Fiore ladies had. Maybe it was just the Aussie inside of her but for now she seemed to think it was Geor.
Looking onto the path ahead she let out a sigh and then smiled. “You know Geor, I always had a soft spot for wolves. They just don’t seem like the evil creatures the Brothers Grimm portray them to be.” Her eyes sparkled softly as she let out a laugh. What she said, however, was true. Even as a little girl she had always loved the big bad wolf as appose to Little Red Riding Hood herself. She just felt sorry for the way wolves were written; like they were these evil creatures that only wanted to hunt and kill little girls who wondered into the forest. She always hated the endings where the wolf would die but she couldn’t stop that from happening. Even her stepmother thought her strange for thinking that way. However her love for the wolves was also good because she then also liked quite a lot of the evil characters. And that meant that she didn’t feel too bad about her stepmother. She had never really expected her stepmother to be like Cinderella’s but at the same time she did have doubts about that. They had all been cleared up when she had met her stepmother though. Almost instantly she was buying her gifts and taking her shopping, seeing as she had no children of her own. She was extremely glad that she had such an amazing family in Milan, and now she had a great butler too.
A frown crossed onto her face and she finally decided to give up the game at that last comment. “What!” Evangeline demanded as she turned towards the man. “You haven’t seen evil Geor,” her voice reached a higher pitch and she was trying hard not to laugh. In a way she hadn’t completely given up the game yet. But she wanted to see exactly how her butler would handle an angry lady situation. It was one which would probably become quite common seeing as she tended to get angered easily. “And you reckon that my life is run by the rules the Academy seems to love making? Well, have I got some news for you!” Her voice became louder and she became aware of the people that had turned to watch the pair. Shaking her head she finally gave up the entire game. Laughing she let herself fall onto the grass softly, looking up at Geor with a stupid grin on her face. “Relax. The rules are stupid.” Lying down on the grass she pulled his jacket around her and looked up at the sky that was starting to turn a deep shade of purple.

Geor was amused by her reply. It was not that rare for a girl to like wolves. They often thought about wolves as if they were over sized dogs. Most of them saw them in movies, helping out people, like a dog would, but it was quite different in real life. They were animals, hunting and feeding on weaker creatures. It was the way of nature, so that wasn't all that special, but their brutal efficiency was terrifying. They would encircle the prey, while the ones behind it would try to assault it from behind, killing them with a single bite to their throat. That way injuries were rare, showing the cunning of the animals. As intriguing as this was, it must have been quite different if you were the one encircled by a pack of hungry wolves. What surprised him was the thing she said about the renowned Grimm brothers. Most of the people believed how wolves would kill for a basket full of human food, or eat your grandmother. It required some insight to understand that they were not fluffy puppies, but deadly hunters.
His grandfather told him how they used to have wolves in Japan as well. They were exterminated by the rulers of past ages, for they were a threat to villages. It was a bit extreme, in Geor's opinion, but that was natural human thinking. If you have the power, why not use it? It sounded stupid, for it started wars, and caused the death of millions. He could still remember when he asked the old man about the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The sheer volume of the destruction caused by the radiation was insane. The old soldier always liked history, for it was a good teacher. He believed that one should learn from the mistakes of the past, to make sure he would never make them again. It was quite naive, and he wasn't one to ponder over such things, but sometimes it would prove useful.
His line of thoughts was broken as his lady turned around, with a loud 'What!', surprising him. Deciding to turn this one to his favor, he thought for a moment before replying.
”Oww, and just when you admitted that you liked me. Why is life so cruel?” said the boy, trying not to laugh by biting his lower lip. Then she continued, her voice becoming louder, and people were starting to stare, so he decided to calm her fast.
”I humbly apologize, m'lady. You're neither evil, nor do you live for those rules, just don't hurt poor little Geor.” said the butler, forcing a few drops of tear from the corner of his eye, before sticking out his tongue with a childish smile.
As Evangeline sat on the grass with a smile, telling him t relax, Geor decided it was time for him to cut off the game as well. Turning to her with a kind smile, he bowed once more, his knee almost giving in, but he managed to stand, before introducing himself once again.
”My name is Geor Tenrou Wolf, nice to meet you, m'lady!” said Geor, before feeling his knee buckle, so he had to drop to one knee, to avoid collapsing.

A smile crept onto Evangeline’s lips as her butler introduced himself properly. She nodded towards him kindly, letting him know all was forgiven. It had been a very fun game while it had lasted. Squealing softly as Geor fell to the ground she shuffled over towards him. “Are you okay?” she asked, regarding his knee warily. He seemed to be having quite a lot of problems with his knee. Although she did not know what had happened to it and it really wasn’t in her place to ask. If he wanted her to know he would tell her. Either that or her curiosity would get the better of her and she would end up asking him about it anyway.
Shaking her head she moved her thoughts off the topic of his knee. “And I’m Evangeline Rose Moretti, but you can call me Eve if you really want to,” she said happily. Not many people referred to her as Eve but she didn’t mind it. Her best friend back in Australia had always called her that because she preferred one syllable names. She had mentioned that it was just easier to call out than a four syllable name. Evangeline had always thought her friend had been a bit weird when they were growing up but that was just her personality.
Sighing, the lady let herself fall completely back onto the grass. It was soft on her skin and was mildly comforting. She still had Geor’s jacket wrapped around her shoulders and it was very helpful too. The wind had been starting to pick up again but she no longer felt cold. It was strange really. The way Geor had already started serving her like a butler but it didn’t really feel that way. What she felt when she was around him wasn’t exactly how a lady should feel around her butler. She didn’t feel like she commanded him or owned him like some of the elder people in Milan said it would feel like. In the same way she couldn’t exactly describe the way it felt.
As Evangeline lay there on the grass she let her thoughts wander. She let herself imagine that she was back in Australia with her mum and her best friend. They always used to go out to the local park – which was nothing like Parco Forlanini – and have picnic lunches. She had been a lot younger than and although that was some years ago she still missed it. Sure, it was great living with her dad and stepmother but it just wasn’t the same. Sure, they were a rich family and she got whatever she wanted but, she still missed her mother. What child in the world would not miss their mother? It was a natural instinct for anyone. Everyone always said that the bond between mother and child was strong and even though her mother was gone their bond still existed.
Knowing how she would get if she continued thinking about her mother Evangeline raised herself up on her elbows. Looking over at Geor she smiled again, her eyes glistening in the light. “What’s your family like Geor? I’m sure it’s nothing like mine.” Her voice was soft but had a genuine tone of kindness in it. As the wind blew again her orange hair swayed slowly. They still had more time yet.

Geor smiled at his lady's concern. He sat down, allowing his knee to rest a bit, while talking to Eve.
"I appreciate the concern, but I'm all right. It usually lasts one or two days." said Geor in a cheerful voice. It took quite a lot for him to accept the fact his left knee would never heal fully. After the accident he would often brood about his condition, giving him a hard time, but he grew to accept it. He wouldn't be able to make it any better, but he could make sure it won't get worse, so he made sure to strengthen his right leg to make up for the injury.
Hearing his lady introduce herself, a chuckle escaped his mouth. It was not everyday a lady would let her butler use her nickname on even before he actually became her butler.
"Eve it is then, m'lady." said Geor cheerfully. He looked up at the sky, smiling how the moon was even brighter now. It wouldn't take too long for the sun to completely set, and it would be advisable for them to return before sunset. His knee was still throbbing, but he didn't care. He was about to stand up, when she asked about his family. He was happy to talk about them, so he started without hesitation.
"My family? Well... I could say they are pretty normal, but it would be far from the truth. My father is a former foreign legionnaire. He served for 5 years, but now he works as a bodyguard. He is British. My grandfather is a rustic man, going on about chivalry and stuff. He is also quite good at fencing, he is one of the reasons I started.
Mother is Japanese, she is a scary person. She can boss my father around, and even his instructors at the legion couldn't do that. Her mother is rather old, she is running a shop back in Kyoto. Grandfather used to be a soldier. He was a commander of the army, a strict man of honor. He taught me all I know about Jodo. We live London, but I prefer Japan. The weather is nicer there."
This reminded him of Kyoto. It was quite a beautiful place. His grandparents grew up there, as well as his mother. There were lots of interesting spots, and quite a lot of students came to visit the place on school trips. He would often talk to them when he was there on a holiday. The different historic buildings interested him. Back then he wanted to be an archaeologist, to work with old ruins and stuff, but he gave up on that. He would study economics if he had the time, but first and foremost his job was tending to his lady, and he would be damned if he failed at that one.
"How about you, Eve?" asked Geor. He frowned for a moment as a chilly wind brushed by his face. They would have to get going in a few minutes, and the sooner they left the better. That, and he had painkillers back home. This time he decided to voice his concern.
"Let's continue talking on out way back. It's getting dark, and cold. That jacket won't be enough in such a weather, Eve."

Smiling up at the man Evangeline listened to him talk. His family seemed so normal and not at all like hers. His parents were actually still together – and alive too – and he knew his grandparents. It seemed like his family was great compared to hers. But you got what you got given and she could live with that. She didn’t mind her family that much; it was just a little hard sometimes. The first few years of being there was especially difficult but she was used to it now at least. It wasn’t like her stepmother was at all like Cinderella’s and that meant she had one less thing to worry about. Giving a small chuckle as Geor mentioned the weather she thought about Australia again. It was usually so hot there in summer. She remembered staying in the air conditioned house with her mother and watching the tennis all through January. Her father never did that with her, probably because it wasn’t as hot here as it was there. Also they didn’t have the Australian Open in Italy because it was, well, Australian.
Geor asked about her own family and she was just about to speak when he opened his mouth again. Smiling she stood up and pulled his jacket around her shoulders. “You are quite right on that one Geor,” she said grinning happily. It was going to get dark soon and she wasn’t in the mood for any lectures on how to behave like a proper lady. Walking onto the path again she turned to wait for Geor to stand up. Regarding his leg warily she wondered if he would actually be able to make the walk back to the Academy. At the same time she also wondered how he had come across such a terrible injury. He had been walking fine before but perhaps it was an on-and-off sought of injury. She had heard of things like that before but never really known anyone with that problem. Not that it was a problem; he might be used to it by now.
Continuing to walk beside her butler she decided that maybe she should tell him about her family. He would eventually end up meeting them and it was best he knew what was coming before that ever happened. Still, she never really liked to talk about her past. It was a very touchy subject. But now was a better time than ever to tell someone, especially someone she could trust. She hoped she could trust Geor at least. But he probably knew that if he ever broke her trust she would have him hunted down by a group of professional assassins. Okay, maybe not but, she should be able to trust him. Trust was a very important thing for ladies and their butlers, according to the very large handbook Stella Fiore provided for you when you first became appointed to a butler. Trust was, in fact, very good and now was a good time to test out that trust.
“One thing you have to know about my family Geor, is that it is very complicated,” she started off. “My parents split up before I was born. Dad had met my mother when he was on a business trip in Australia. I grew up there with my mother but she was very sick. When I was only five she passed away.” Taking a small breath Evangeline paused. It was difficult to finally tell someone about this. “I was then sent to live with my father here, in Milan. He had remarried a wealthy woman a few years after coming back here. My stepmother’s very nice though, not at all like the one in Cinderella. Sometimes I miss Australia but, it’s still very nice here.” Stopping she sighed and then looked out in front of herself. Her eyes had become slightly watery but she knew she wasn’t going to cry. It was a lot easier telling someone than she had first thought it would be. It also felt good to finally tell someone about it. Somehow, it was a lot better than keeping it inside.

Tenrou stood up slowly, placing his whole weight on his good leg. He was thankful he brought the cane with him, it helped a lot, but he was angry that he forgot the painkillers. He always had some in his pocket, in case of emergency, while he only brought the cane if his knee hurt in the morning.
'I'm such an idiot...' thought the boy, feeling his knee throb. The pain wasn't the worst part. It was the fact he might mess up due to his condition. He was trained to be a bodyguard as well as a butler, and the it was a weakness that could be utilized by his enemies. All he could do was hope nothing happened on fays like this. Thankfully it didn't happed all that often. The doctors weren't sure why it hurt so rarely. They suspected it was the result of exhaustion, physical excercise, and the weather.
He walked over to his lady, offering his arm, as they walked towards the academy. She told him about her family and he felt sorry for her. It must have been hard, loosing a mother, having to move at the age of five. He wasn't sure what to say, so he had to think for a moment before opening his mouth.
"I'm sorry for your loss, Eve. But yout still have your father and stepmother. Life doesn't always work out like it should, does it." said Geor in a soft voice, before drawing a deap breath. "Good thing I'm here. I have to make sure m'lady won't get all depressed. That would be troublesome, don't you think?"
In his head, Geor was completely confused. He had no idea what to do in situations like this. He never lost a relative, well his British grandmother died when he was 3, but he couldn't really remember that. He had no idea what it felt like, and he could only hoped it would be a long time before he did. He was no fool. He knew his grandparents would pass on eventually. It was the way the world worked, but death was still death.
He remembered the look on his father's face when he asked him about one of his battles. His company raided the mansion of some crime lord. It turned out to be a trap, and the 23 legiannaires got trapped. Only 2 of them died, and one of them did so willingly. The men of the crime lord used C4, and the leg of one of the legionnaires got stuck under the debrs. They wanted to dig him out, but it would have taken too long, and the enemy was moving fast. They had to leave him behind, else they would have all died. Then, when the reinforcements arrived, all they found was a crippled man, with high explosives with him.
Heroism was not such a great things, that was the first thing his father taught him when he decided to become a butler. His background made him more of a bodyguard, but as such he had to know what he was in for. It wasn't likely he would ever get into a fight, but being prepared never hurt.
