After stacking the clean dishes into the cupboards, vacuuming a little, and straightening up some things, Audrey scurried to get dressed. He didn't mean to wake up so late especially on the day Vasili was coming over. A glance at the clock on the nightstand told him he had seven minutes until three o'clock, their meeting time. That was good. He slowed down some in his movements, going at a more normal pace. Leaving the bedroom to head into the bathroom, the blonde fetched a brush to tame his ever growing locks. He supposed a haircut was needed as soon as possible since he was beginning to look even more feminine with hair to his shoulders.
An annoyed sigh left his lips as Audrey set the brush down and stepped out into the living room again. He headed into the kitchen to check the refrigerator and cabinets, making sure they weren't completely empty or anything. If Vasili wanted to make a dish specifically uncommon he was sure to bring his own ingredients. After checking, the blonde wandered back to the couch. Pretty sure he was done preparing for Vasili's arrival, the only thing left to do was wait so he did just that, turning on the t.v. and plopping down on the couch. He had to admit he was a little nervous, so concentrating on the screen was difficult.
Audrey laid sideways on the couch, burying his cheek into the arm rest. His bright blue hues stayed glued to the television despite the fact he wasn't watching it, and he could feel a slight, barely noticeable wave of nausea hit.

VASILI SEVASTIEN WHAT'S LEFT YOU DID FORSAKE LIFT ME UP, MY SOUL'S SO HOLLOW YOU CAN MAKE ME SCREAM INTERNALLY YOU MAKE ME BREATH ENTERNALLY YOU SEE, THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE THE THINGS THAT MAKE ME PLAIN
Not only was he late, he'd made a mess in his attempt to hurry up. Vasili had some of the same bad luck that had hit his younger friend, but his was just a bit worse. He'd laid in bed all night trying to sleep. By the time morning came, he thought about just getting up and getting things ready so he could just pick up and leave when he needed to, but he decided he'd just lay there for a bit longer and relax some since he spent the night tossing and turning.
So he laid there. And the next time he looked at the clock it was 10 AM. He didn't really know what happened, maybe he dozed some, he thought. But he decided it'd be safe to chill a little more. So he did. And he did this a few more times, dosing and waking up thirty minutes later or so. But then suddenly it was three o'clock and Vasili freaked out, kicking himself in the ass for deciding to relax in the first place.
So he quickly ran and got a shower and stumbled around trying to get dressed. He checked the clock and it was ten after and he groaned before rushing to the kitchen and pulling out a bag to put ingredients in. In the rush he managed to drop his carton of eggs, creating a huge mess. The frustrated man began cursing in Russian as he began to clean it up. By the time he was done it was thirty after and he really began to panic by now.
He checked to make sure he had everything he needed for cooking and quickly ran and put the bag on the table next to the door while simultaneously grabbing his messenger bag and checking to make sure everything was in there; cellphone, smokes, bottle of vodka(how stereotypical), keys, pills... he snatched the pill bottle and popped a couple of them into his mouth and swallowed, hoping they'd help settle his nerves. He was already more than a half hour late.
Vasili placed the messenger bag strap over his head and settled it at his side and pulled out his keys, then grabbed his food bag and headed out the door. Luckily, once he got going, it didn't take long at all to get to Audrey's. He checked his phone time when he got to the apartment complex and whined a little at it saying it was four now. He hopped off his motorcycle and put the bike helmet on the handlebar, grabbed that bag of food and quickly headed up to Audrey's room. He took a few seconds to gather himself, fluff his hair some, pat down his clothes and check his bag one last time before he knocked on the door, hoping Audrey hadn't left or something since he didn't show up on time.

He'd gotten worried when half an hour bypassed, and rather slowly at that. The boy remained on the sofa still, distantly watching television. He decided to give it another hour or so before really panicking - maybe something important had popped up? Sometime during his wait, Audrey felt his eyes grow half-lidded before fluttering closed, and he dozed off in a light slumber. It would do him some good in the long run to help rid of the sudden nausea.
The knock at the front door jolted the blonde boy awake half an hour later. Disoriented at first, he calmed himself before glancing over at the time. 4:04pm. As long as Vasili showed up Audrey was happy. He stood from the couch and stretched out his arms while making his way for the door. Unlocking and opening it, the boy peered up at brunette with a surprisingly wide and gentle smile. “Vasili, are you okay?” A bit of worry gleamed in his eyes then. Without waiting for a reply he left the front door to circle around the man, give him a good look-over. “I was worried something might've happened to you.” Thankfully that didn't seem to be the case when he found no marks or bruises or anything.
Standing in the doorway once again, Audrey gestured toward the other. “Come in, it's freezing out!” he said kindly, a light shiver racking his small form as if to prove his point. He carefully reached to take the bag of food from Vasili's grasp, helping him get more situated after he entered.

Vasili was feeling rather jumpy and jittery. The whole rush to get ready had really thrown him off. So when he heard the click and the door opened, he jumped slightly but definitely tried to hide it by casually, but nervously, shifting and stepping back ever slightly. He gave he younger boy a courteous smile as he spoke and nodded his head. "Da, I am quite alright." he said with another nod. He watched Audrey circle around him with some obvious discomfort at the move, "Y-yzveeneete," he said nervously, unaware that he was reverting back to Russian without even thinking about it. He needed a moment to chill.
And the continued to stand there silently awkward until Audrey invited him in and Vasili allowed him to take the bag after a moment of trying to figure out why he was reaching for it. "Spaseebo balshoye." He spoke somewhat quickly as he nodded again at the blonde boy before scooting through the door and standing inside. He glanced around a little curiously, finding the muted tones in the room quite calming and he found his thoughts slowing down. Finally.
"Prastee meenya pozhalosta--" he stopped for a moment and finally realized what he was doing. "Ah, I am sorry. I tend to speak in, ah... Russian, when I am nervous." Or when he was having a bit of a breakdown. Which also happened today. Busy day. "I didn't mean to come so late." Or to talk to much; that didn't happen often and he felt awkward knowing he'd already said so much. Even though a good bit of it Audrey didn't even understand.

The boy couldn't help but tilt his head slightly, a curious smile on his lips when he heard Vasili's sudden string of Russian words. He didn't mind at all, in fact he thought it was pretty cute that Vasili's first language still stuck and with a rather thick accent, he just wished he could understand it. After the other made his way inside, Audrey shut and locked the door then shifted the bag in his hands carefully. “It's okay. I understand,” he replied to the other's mention of coming late. Things happen. He walked away from the door and over to where the brunette stood, looking up to him with his usual lighthearted smile.
“I like when you speak Russian but there's nothing to be nervous about.” Audrey was a little nervous himself but of course he wouldn't show or admit it; besides, his reasons were most likely way different from Vasili's. He shifted the bag in his grasp, reaching a gentle hand to rest against the man's arm in an attempt to reassure him -- though it could've done the opposite affect since Audrey felt his cheeks grow warm. “Oh wow, you're really tense.” The boy hesitantly moved his hand up to Vasili's shoulder and sure enough he found it wasn't just his imagination, or the layers of clothing underneath the other's jacket. Which reminded him, wasn't Vasili hot in that?
Audrey's bright blue eyes gleamed with slight worriment but his smile grew back. “I have a feeling I'll be learning a whole nother language tonight, then.” Was something wrong? He didn't want to nag the man so he didn't ask, instead holding the food bag with both hands again and beginning to walk off. “C'mon. The kitchen's just up ahead.”

He was feeling pretty uptight, so he was pretty eager to get his mind off feeling so awkward by beginning cooking class. When Audrey came over and touched him he shifted uncomfortably but otherwise didn't say anything that would flat out tell the boy he was incredibly uncomfortable with the contact. And this time he managed to keep quiet, though he did let out an odd, quiet whine when Audrey reached up and grabbed his shoulder to check and see if he really was tense.
And he no doubt was now, more so than before. Vasili knew once he spent more time with Audrey he'd chill out some more, but right now he was probably going to remain tense and uncomfortable. At least until he got busy and forgot that he was so nervous. He laughed nervously at the compliment, but saying there wasn't any reason to be nervous only made it worse. Not that it showed. He was really trying his best not to show how uptight he was. It was kind of working.
He relaxed a little more when the subject changed and Audrey joked lightly. Perhaps he would; if Vasili remained so tense he'd probably end up speaking in Russian more than half the time and confusing the hell out of the poor guy. When Audrey began heading off Vasili was right there following him, figuring that's what he needed to do since he didn't know his way around. obviously ready to get started and get his mind off his own twitcheness. On the way he also decided he'd need to take off his jacket to get more comfortable since they'd be working in the kitchen. The way Audrey seemed to tune into him made him worry that the young man would be concerned over how skinny he was-- which made him hesitant to take off the other layers to get more comfortable. Then again, maybe the blonde wouldn't notice. He could only hope.

On the way to the kitchen there was a brief silence. The boy was debating, or rather arguing with himself about Vasili. If he was okay, if there was some really bad reason he was nervous about something or if there wasn't any reason at all. It would be best to drop the topic and keep it that way. The man would most likely dismiss it as nothing big anyway. Once they reached the kitchen and the carpet turned into tile, Audrey set the food bag on the counter, tempted to just open it up and see what was brought but decided against it.
Vasili was already uncomfortable around him, he didn't need to go ravaging through his personal belongings with the man still forming an opinion of him. He glanced over to him then, still holding a faint smile even though he felt a little crappy. Audrey wasn't sure if it was himself that Vasili was feeling so uneasy around. Maybe he didn't like him? Maybe he annoyed him, and the blonde boy wouldn't know for sure until, well, Vasili told him. “What's in the bag?” He would let it go for now, though the possibility of being hated still nagged at him.
“Is it ingredients for something different, like a Russian dish?” Audrey's eyes lit up with excitement. He always wondered what Russian people ate, what their culture was like -- if they had one. It was such a quiet country no one knew anything about. Come to think of it... If Vasili represented the majority of the Russian people then he understood why. “I've never had anything Russian before,” he mused aloud, “I think.”

Vasili wouldn't have minded one bit if Audrey snooped around in the bag of stuff he brought. He didn't understand why he didn't go ahead and do that-- he'd brought the stuff for both of them to use, it wasn't like his messenger bag, which he really wouldn't appreciate anyone taking and looking through even if there wasn't much in there. "Ingredients," he said slurring the word as he attempted to pronounce it. His thick accent caused him to butcher most of the English language, but the majority of the time, even though heavily slurred and mispronounced, people got what he was trying to say. "For the teaching?" he added unsure after a moment, eying the young man curiously.
It was easier for him to mellow out when the subject was completely changed and dropped. Though he'd most likely still be fidgety for the remainder of the visit, as was the norm for him meeting and being around new people for the real first time. No wonder he didn't have any friends. "Da, Russian dishes." Vasili repeated unconsciously. He didn't know if he wanted to tell Audrey that they'd be somewhat complicated and that he might not like them... but he'd let the boy be the judge of that.
"Do you have your own 'ingredients'?" Vaili asked, not noticing when he said ingredients in Russian. His mind automatically reverted back to Russian at the complicated word and he looked to Audrey curiously. He was noticeably less tense, though not relaxed by any means.

Eventually his curiosity took over and the blonde reached for the food bag, carefully taking out all that was brought. He couldn't help but give a quick glance over to the other to see his expression. It seemed he didn't mind, too busy with the pronunciation of the word 'ingredients.' Audrey couldn't help but smile at his attempts, finding that Russian accent cuter and cuter each minute. He spread the food items around on the counter then reached over to the sink closeby to run the water, warming it up so they could wash their hands.
Audrey glanced back over to Vasili when he asked about his own... something. His thin eyebrows knitted in a clearly confused expression before he finally spoke up. “You reverted back to Russian again. But I think you meant ingredients?” It was that word Vasili had trouble with, and a smile lit the boy's eyes when he realized that. “I do. I have pretty much the basic ones in the fridge and cabinet, if you want to check.” He motioned to said food storages as he spoke then turned back to the man. “Vasili, how long ago did you start learning english?”
