[/img] Now that everything is steadier for Nagi, she decided to visit the library for some quiet reading. Even though she shouldn't read much, she still were drawn to her bookworm's call. And the thinking of a room chock full of books, nonfiction and fiction, she could not help coming to this place on a Sunday night. There were no people around, since most had gone back to their dorms and most likely asleep. But since tomorrow Nagi had night classes she could practically sleep all she wants without disturbance. Cedric had other students to teach, as he had told her, and so taking the time to come here was a very good idea. Aside from Nagi herself there is the librarian; a very tall woman with long black hair and a hooked nose. Her beady black eyes seem to flick itself at her when she entered the great oak doors. Nagi give a small hello and quietly walked past her. The library was heavily lit with three big chandeliers hanging down the ceiling, and painted on the walls were pictures of angels and humans. She made her way to a section marked 'Romance' and briefly scanned the books. Like her own books, they were ordered from thinnest to thickest. Most were leather-bound and came in various languages. Even though Nagi isn't a romantic, she still ought to be reading a few to expand her collection. At the same time her friend Lucifer would greatly appreciate it too, since he reads them...secretly.
She then idly walked out of the romance section, thinking about what she should read next. The horror genre could be another choice, since she hadn't touched any of them since years ago. Nagi had enjoyed the genre, but never read anything after coming out of the hospital. The farther she went, the more bookshelves there are, and now the silence seem to be a bit creepy. Shivering, Nagi noted not to wear any more sundresses. Clutching the side of her dress, Nagi looked sideways and the shelves looked like as if it's enclosing on her. Suddenly a noise came from behind and with a yelp Nagi begin running forward with her eye closed. A few seconds later, her heart calmed down and she realized the noise might something snapping. Opening her eye she lifted a hand to her eye-patch, and felt flesh. Gasping, Nagi touched that place again and felt the same thing. Was it the eye patch that had broke? Dread filled Nagi up and turning around she suddenly found herself in a maze of shelves. Reluctantly Nagi took a few turns, but still she found herself surrounded by the tall structures. Gulping, Nagi looked around and saw a giant plaque hanging from a wall, saying in gold letters: Section B; Maze Style. She had heard, that the person in charge of building the entire library was an eccentric and loved playing psychological torture on anyone who visits a place he builds. Could this 'Maze Section be what his most beloved creation?

It was a nice day today, as it was observed by those who took the time to notice. Although, not many would considering a large percentage of the students of Stella Fiore were in bed. Perhaps they were sleeping in to prepare for the next day or just to get more beauty sleep. Whatever it was, it was like a break day for many butlers who were able to move freely. For the ladies, well, every day was pretty much a day where they could move relatively freely, lapping in the luxuries provided by their riches and of course their doting butlers. However, some of the more dedicated butlers decided to study for the day, as they should if they wanted to study to heighten their ranks and provide better service to their ladies.
A particular lone butler decided to do just that. He was one who amazingly had not been paired up with a lady yet. He had a certain unexplainable grandeur about him. Perhaps it was his appearance? He was a rather tall individual with a slender yet slightly muscled physique. It gave him a strange look that made him appear as if he was an aristocrat, definitely not failing in the looks department. His posture as he walked was phenomenal, as if he was walking like a model, though it appeared casual rather than tacky or flashy. He was outfitted in a famous brand of suits that was fitted for him as a butler uniform. It outlined his figure as if it was made for him (which it was) and yet his face still had yet to be described.
His face had already matured nicely, having a defined jaw line and by no means looked like a kid. His hair framed his face, split down the middle in a zigzag pattern. His hair was a dark blackish blue color and spiked off in the back…like a pineapple… His hair was a bit long for a normal male but it seemed well maintained and was tied back neatly in a low ponytail as he let it swing loosely behind him. His skin differed from his dark hair, seeming like peach porcelain, but also didn’t seem quite as fragile. It was strange just to describe it rather than just see for oneself. His smile seemed to be curved into a light smirk, surprisingly not seeming arrogant but rather as if he seemed to have known some sort of secret. His eyes, which were each different colors--red and blue--, seemed…well, it was a mystery. Almost as if his eyes also were hiding some strange little secret..seeming as if they were challenging any other person to dare ask what that secret may be.
He was a B ranked butler who went by the name of Hatori Kagotori. So what was he doing walking around the halls of Stella Fiore? Well, he decided to do as mentioned earlier--study to become a better butler. He made his way over to the library and stepped inside where very many books were stacked high in a wide assortment of genres. It is a great place to be if you planned on studying or if you were a bookworm to begin with. He made his way over first to the maze that intrigued him ever since he first stumbled upon this little wonder. It was a fascinating place. He once even heard a rumor that someone got lost there for a couple days. But rumors were rumors.
As he made his way over to the maze, a curious little discovery was made. It seems an eye patch got lost from its master…or lady… He grinned at the sight of the familiar little object as he picked it up, bringing the eye patch up to eye level to observe with interest before giving a faint kiss to the object. Oh how interesting this was, to have something entertaining to do on a boring day off. With this, he made a few guesses as to what happened. One, perhaps the owner was alone since he knew the assumed owner of the patch. His clue to this was that the eye patch had not been picked up and the butler should be able to notice such a detail. Two, perhaps this person was frightened off, otherwise why would they simply abandon the object on the library floor. A third unlikely thought that occurred to him was perhaps the owner of the eye patch was kidnapped but he had little interest to believe in the theory that didn’t favor him. It was perhaps the more childish side of him.
He stalked his way eagerly toward the library’s maze, getting more interested than he was initially. As he rounded the corner after wandering within the maze for a few minutes, he finally found his prey. Nagi Kobayashi. She had recently began to interest him. Not simply because she was beautiful. Well, at least that’s what everyone said about virtually all the ladies. It was rather just due to that aura around her that she seemed to unwillingly emit. The aura of fragility. That was the thing that enticed him. No, he was by no means a romantic but rather, a tormenter not in the form of any kind of stereotypical school bully. He was..unique. He almost couldn’t hold back a chuckle at seeing the confused and worried expression on her face.
He walked up casually to the girl as he suavely leaned against the book shelf, not tipping it over of course. With a deep and mature voice, he spoke clearly to her, “Missing something, ojou-sama? He said with that usual knowing smile on his face as he tapped the eye patch close to his lips. He still maintained a formal tone as most trained butler should when speaking to ladies. Against a tall individual with an overwhelming aura, like Hatori, perhaps Nagi who appeared to be more frail would be a bit overwhelmed. He awaited in anticipation for the kind of expression the owner of the lost little eye patch would show..

[/img] The first thing Nagi had felt was her lower lips trembling and her whole body became rigid. She could not remember the last time she had been so frightened. What is with this newcomer, with his lean physique, that scares her so? Nagi had seen him a few times around, and those times she had never minded him much. Except he did frighten her so. It was his aura perhaps, it's darker than the rest of the butlers, and seeing he has no lady made her wander. Nagi would have done something by now, if it wasn't for the thing he was holding. Her eye widened, and by now some of her hair were covering her missing eye. Thankfully they did, as she does not want anyone to see her missing eye. She could have made a reach for the eye patch, but she's so short compared to this man. He was a giant compared to her, and Nagi loathed the fact she is so small looking. Balling her hands into fists, Nagi tried to look more courageous. However her face still betrayed the thought, as it had gone pale. In the world, only one other person can make her feel so scared. Most of the times Nagi only felt shyness and wariness around strangers. The someone that she was thinking of right now is her mother. Now Nagi could see some sort of resemblance in the stranger to her mother. Of course they do not look alike physically. It's just the aura they give off is so alike. It could make anybody creep under their gaze and go rigid with fright. But the most cruelest thing this stranger had done was exactly what he had in his hand; her eye patch.
He had picked it up and asked her if she's missing something. Obviously he knows this object belonged to her, and something about the way he said it seems so...playful. Could he be toying with her? What if he is? Nagi does not want to play another psychological game again. The maze is enough! And besides, now that Nagi realizes it, the time is getting late, her butler would be back in their dorm right now. Her eyes flitted beside the stranger, while her mind tried to think of a way out. She could always get another eye patch....although she would need to be cautious of not letting any others see her missing eye. But in the end Nagi still wanted the eye patch in the strangers hands. After all it is hers and she should thank him for finding it. "Y-yes, I lost my eye patch a-and...." Her words got caught in her throat, and all the black haired girl can do is stare straight at the eye patch in his hand. There is some part of her which desperately wanted to get out right now, but another part of her...the most dominant, wanted the eye patch back for no apparent reason. Unconsciously Nagi took a step toward the male, and noted his odd hairstyle. Yes, he was the person she had met some times ago. And now, Nagi wanted nothing to do with him.

He chuckled inwardly at the face. Oh! Such an interesting expression she showed. It was just as delicious as he thought it would be, her face twisted in some sort of fearful and anxious tension. He didn’t even do anything but spoke a few simple words. He almost wondered if he was the one being toyed with. Having this much fear upon just a few spoken words, she was just begging to be the prey in his little game. He could see the inner conflict Nagi was having just simply by looking in her eyes. Even then, it was practically written all over her face. He knew that this eye patch proved to be of some use to him by now since it seemed she was unwilling to leave without it. He didn’t care much for whatever significance it held other than the fact that right now, she was bound to him until he returned the thing.
It might seem as if they were total strangers and perhaps in terms of how long they’ve talked face to face, they were. However, in terms of one’s knowledge of one another, Hatori knew just a little bit more than perhaps a butler should. However, it was something he liked to do--study the particular ladies that interested him. Besides, there was nothing better to do until he did get a lady to serve. Nagi just began to peak his interest as of late. To put it bluntly, he knew about her eye. It was almost predictable since she did wear an eye patch most of the time. His interest in Nagi wasn’t particularly her eye though, but if she held some sort of inferiority complex due to her eye, it was no lie that it didn’t intrigue him further. Rather, what interested him most is the color he felt looked best on her. His particular favorite…red…
He chuckled a bit when he saw the girl try to look tough by balling her hands into fists, but her face deceived her attempt at a courageous stance. He took a few strides only to be able to stand directly in front of where she stood. He smiled in what seemed to be a polite smile as he spoke in what also seemed like a polite voice, “Do not worry, ojou-sama. I do not plan to do anything.” His breath must’ve ghosted over her ear or neck. Perhaps in this cold library, even a breath as close as that could somehow feel so cold. It could almost send a shiver down one’s spine.
“By the way, ojou-sama, although this type of dress might be a little cold in the library, it’s almost a bit lascivious...showing so much skin. But somehow, it seems to fit your figure nicely. I commend your choice in clothing. However, if I can be allowed to say something a bit rude, I think ojou-sama would look wonderful in red.” He said calmly as he moved away. He retrieved a crimson piece of paper from his uniform and began folding it quickly until it took the form of a paper rose. It was a beautiful paper craft. It seemed to be as delicate as a real rose and were it not for its paper texture, perhaps one would actually lean down to smell it. He allowed Nagi a chance to observe it before moving his hand to lightly move back some strands of Nagi’s hair.
“Please allow me, ojou-sama.” He said with a smile as he saw Nagi‘s missing eye. So this was what she always hid under the eye patch he held captive. He didn’t stare as he still maintained a butler‘s mannerism to a certain degree as he helped tie on the eye patch. He then attached the paper rose so it lay on top of the eye patch somehow. It was as if the rose was blooming as the eye patch was nearly completely hidden behind the rose. “Please excuse my manners ojou-sama. I just thought that you‘d look even more splendid with a rose on you.” He said as he bowed a bit to her. Even if he was bowing…what an overwhelming aura he still seemed to give off. “However, I don’t believe I’m wrong in saying you look wonderful in red.” Kufufu..
He wondered what she’d do now? Would she run away? Or perhaps she’d surprise him by staying and giving thanks? He did do a little bit more than he thought he would and so he did think he went a bit out of line, but perhaps this slight bit of arrogance was what kept him merely a b ranked butler. More than ranks, he wanted to see how she would react. He hoped she would somehow prove to be more entertaining. After all, a game’s not fun unless you have a few surprises along the way.

[/img] Wonderful in red huh? Nagi thought as her eyes drifted to the paper rose in front of her. Now her confidence in herself had slid down a whole notch, and what's even worse is the implications this man give off. She suddenly give a heavy shudder when the other's breath fanned over her shoulder. He was...right about her dress, well sort of actually. She had never thought of how little the sundress had covered, and also the weather she should wear it in. Nagi never wanted to look like a freak in front of others, so she chose the most simple outfit. Now this man had clearly taught her not to dress like this, whether he knew of it or not. But then again he had reminded her of this to begin with. Inwardly Nagi also wandered what she would look like in red. It's a bold color, too eye catching for her. And now she's sure the man is much more creepier inside. The way he smirked, it feel as if he knew her in some way. A feeling of immense dread and horror dawned on her, and Nagi's mouth parted to form an 'o'. Quickly, she closed it as it is very unladylike, and at the same time she realized that she could feel his fingers touching her skin. Her eyes almost closed, as it had felt a bit warmer with his body so close. Yet her mind gradually told her body not to give in to his good looks. This was something Nagi's good at, fortunately.
Soon she could feel her hair parted a little and once again the warm feeling of the eye patch on her, except this time it is accompanied with the even lighter paper rose. Gently touching the tip, Nagi would have mouthed a 'thank you'. But she felt as if she's being used in some way, almost like a doll. Immediately her hands dropped and she turned a little to the side, to prevent the man from looking at her face any farther. Nagi always hated being treated like something else, and at the same time she pretty much got used to it. But all the same, it made her question her independence. For years she could remember, Nagi had always looked upon somebody else, clung to somebody else, and depended on somebody else. She could never do something alone, nor want to be alone. However when she's truly with someone, she would feel fear and suspicion. "T-thank you for returning my eye patch...I cannot do without it." Her few last words were said in a whisper, as Nagi did not know if she had said everything honestly or not. In truth, she wanted to tell him to leave her alone, so that her mind would be at peace. Oh how weak she is...

He knew the girl was probably self conscious. Her nervous behavior gave all the implications of other personality traits she probably had, one of which he guessed was self consciousness. She seemed to be a girl who tried desperately hard to be what others would call ‘normal’. She was one, from what he thought, who had conflicting emotions. She seemed to want to be normal but also blend into the background. She seemed to want interaction but also shuns it, as well. She was someone who was a beautiful rose but was caged in thorns.
It was funny since she was probably likened to a frail flower and almost had that scent on her when he leaned close to her. He wondered vaguely if her butler prepared some sort of scented bath for her, perhaps smelling like lilacs of some sort? Most butlers took care of the luxuries for their ladies so preparing baths occasionally with a scent was common but since he already studied into the name and rank of some butlers, he wondered about Nagi’s butler. He wondered if Cedric, the name he found Nagi’s current butler to be, was experienced enough to do certain chores a butler must do. He wondered why Nagi chose to have a F-ranked butler but supposed that maybe a higher ranked butler may be too hands on or flashy or whatever reason.
He saw her turn her face to the side and harbored an amused smile in secrecy but appeared concern. “Did I offend you, ojou-sama?” He asked in response to her turning her head. “My apologies for my rude behavior.” He said with an apologetic but formal tone. He looked over to the bookcase beside him as his fingers touched the spines of the books. The smooth texture was felt on his fingertips as he quickly skimmed through the title of each book then picked one out after reading over the title. “Ah here it is. I came here originally looking for this book.” He showed the book to Nagi, an elegant black book with words on the front written in gold cursive letters arranged to read ‘A Butler’s Guide’.
He bowed lightly to her in response to the thank you which came as a light surprise, “It’s no problem. As a butler, I take pride in servicing the ladies." He took a look to Nagi, observing her for a moment as she trailed off her last few words, and then smiled. “How is your butler, ojou-sama? I believe his name was Cedric?”

[/img] Something about his gesture seem a bit...purposeful, almost as if this butler wanted her to see. Nagi should really go now, all the soon back to her dorm...or anything besides with this man. The more she realized it, the more Nagi wanted to grab a fistful of hair and then run. But she still stood rooted to the spot. Why did he seem so interested in her? She's simply another girl, a small meaningless person in the world of queens and kings. Nagi then looked at her feet, finding so much fascination with it then the front. Biting her lip, Nagi tossed his question he had asked over in her mind. “Did I offend you, ojou-sama?”“My apologies for my rude behavior.” He had realized she's uncomfortable with him, and now he's probably amused by this little stunt. "No, I was not offended, thank you very much" Nagi replied, rather coldly this time. She had purposefully left the last four words, drawn it out and spoke louder than the others. For maybe this man would get the idea that she wanted to leave now.
“It’s no problem. As a butler, I take pride in servicing the ladies." Nagi would have shuddered to think the possible psychological (and possibly physical) torture this butler could bestow on his lady. And now she's even more thankful to already have a butler at her service. And speaking of him...“How is your butler, ojou-sama? I believe his name was Cedric?” So...he had found out her butler's name? Why? Is he stalking her for real? A chilliness crept along Nagi's back. She always played the role of a damsel in distress, and she had been sick of it. "Yes, and as a matter of fact he is the best person I've ever met." Nagi said, her voice shaking a little. However if it's either out of fear or defiance is unknown.
