The shinobi world changes, along with the fates of all its inhabitants...
Lesser nations strive for the right to be called equal to the Five Great Shinobi Nations, but have all strived in vain. There are even some who seek out the aid of Orochimaru, in the hopes he would provide them with elite, experimented shinobi in exchange for their village's hidden techniques. It was a small price for glory but a price paid nonetheless. Oto-nin took the guise of many lesser nation shinobi but little did they knew they were deceived by the very forces that should have brought them into power. Orochimaru's subordinates usurped the lesser nations and plans to use the power of their villages (along with his own) to strike back at Konoha.
However, Konoha is not without its deceit...
It started with the assassination of the Godaime Hokage. Tsunade only held the title of Kage for three years and the return of Uzumaki Naruto was yet to be. However, Danzo became appointed as Konoha's successor as the Rokudaime. The Third Tsuchikage was also suspiciously killed, and it wasn't any wonder the other nations began to look over their shoulder. Back in Konoha, information is leaked to a select group of names which include Hatake Kakashi, Yamato, Might Guy, Sarutobi Asuma, Nara Shikaku, Nara Shikamaru, Hyuuga Neji, Shizune and many others. The information reveal a terrible truth; that Danzo was responsible for the Kages' assassination. Naturally, the Rokudaime denies the accusations, after all it was just the word by an unknown source against the word of Konoha's leader.
These accusations against Danzo only weakened Konoha's relationship with the other villages, Iwagakure in particular since they too had lost a Kage. A rebellion starts to form and seeks to overthrow Danzo in a coup d'état, but such a feat is not without drastic measures. One option for Konoha to overthrow their leader is to seek aid from the Akatsuki. That is, if Danzo hasn't already formed an alliance with them in the first place.
Deception is always vital to a shinobi.
But has it gone too far this time?
